Fox Cities Book Festival: Gavin Schmitt- The Crime that Shook the Midwest

Gavin Schmitt is a life-long Fox Cities native, graduating from Kaukauna High School and UW-Green Bay. The author of six books on local history and true crime, he has been described as an excellent researcher and the go-to expert on organized crime in Wisconsin and surrounding areas. Schmitt is a champion of open records laws, amassing a personal collection of over 1,000,000 pages of previously classified government documents. When not actively researching (which is rare), he enjoys a strong cup of coffee from Kaukauna Coffee and Tea.
