Join us for a fun toddler dance party! We will be dancing and sharing singalong stories. A short craft activity to follow. This program will be a repeat of the evening Toddler Dance Party on 7/11/17. Intended for preschool age children however siblings are welcome. Meets in the Conference Room.

Third Thursday of the Month at 6:30p

Join us the third Thursday of each month for Lego Lab.  Each month we will feature a different building activity.  Each activity will include a brief presentation on the featured construction tied to STEM.  Themes may include: patterns, inventions, bridges, robots, homes, animals and more!  For students in grades K-5. Meets in Conference AB.

Help us save the environement with a naturalist from 1,000 Islands!  Come learn about (add in) and create something to help out mother nature. In partnership with 1,000 Islands Environemental Center. This program is intended for preschoolers age 2-5, siblings welcome.  Meets in the Conference Room.

Join us in making a funny face on a planter and planting some grass seed to make crazy hair!  Supplies will be out until 2:30p.  Intended for school age children, but siblings are welcome. Meets in the Conference Room.

Please note that the library has an expectation that patrons conduct themselves in a civil manner while playing in the game world.  Parents/Guardians are required to stay in the room for the duration of the program.  Meets in Tween/Teen Computer Lab.

Kaukauna Public Library and 1,000 Islands Environmental Center present our annual Fairy Walk! Join us for fun activities and a walk around the boardwalk to vote for your favorite fairy house. Fairy costumes are highly recommended for extra fun this evening! Enter your own fairy house into the competition. Rules and information below for the contest. First place prize for the competition is a family membership to The Building for Kids. Fairy Walk: Official Contest Rules

  1. The contest is for youth ages 10 and under.  Fairy houses must be accomplished with minimal help from adults. (Adults should help with activities such as cutting or hot gluing for safety purposes). The age of the builder(s) will be listed on contest tags.  The Library and 1,000 Islands has the authority to disqualify homes that do not look like they were created by the age of the listed participant.   
  2. Houses must be made from all natural materials.  Please be mindful that the chipmunks like to eat houses made out of food.  Any man-made items should be covered with natural items.
  3. Platforms or man-made support materials should be used for easy delivery and transport, but should be covered to look natural.
  4. Houses should be portable as they will be transported to the boardwalk.  Maximum dimensions should be 16”L X 16”W X 24”H.
  5. Please do not use any items of value in your house as KPL and 1,000 Islands are not responsible for any loss or damage.
  6. The theme of the house may be anything you wish.
  7. Houses must be dropped off at 1,000 Islands between August 21-25 (please see 1,000 Islands Nature Center’s hours for open and close times).  Entries dropped off after August 25 may be displayed, but will not be eligible for any prizes.
  8. Houses must have the contact information form filled out and attached.  Forms are available online at: and at 1,000 Islands.
  9. Houses may be picked up at event conclusion at 7:30p.  Houses not picked up after the event must be picked up by August 30th or they will become property of 1,000 Islands. 
  10. Judging of the fairy houses is by attendees and winners will be announced at 7:15p.
