Let's sweat at the library! Family Fitness Friday is once a month fitness class where you can bring your kids along! No need to worry about daycare. Bring your strollers, your kids, some water, and your workout attire to the library. Workout in a kid friendly environment with other parents. Toys will be available for babies and toddlers. Taught by a Fitness Prenatal and Postpartum and Barre Above Certified Instructor. All fitness levels welcomed! No registration required. Held in Conference Room ABC.

Please note that Kaukauna Public Library staff may photograph and record programs and events for library publicity and promotional purposes. Leapin’ lizards, it’s Leap Day!  We will celebrate this once every four years day with leaping and silly stories, songs, dances, and a craft! Getting an extra day in the year is something to leap about!  All ages are welcomed!

Thursday, March 5, 2020 - 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Join officers from the Kaukauna Police Department and K9 dog Rocko for a special night at the library!

Starting at 5:30, create Rocko-inspired crafts, practice your skills on an obstacle course, and have time to purchase a toy to support the Police Department's K9 Program. At 6:15, join Rocko, Officer Meyer, and other members of the Department for storytime. This will include books, dancing, a demonstration by Rocko, and information about what the K9 Program does in our community. Stories and activities are perfect for preschool and early school age kids, but everyone is welcome to participate.

Activities will be held in Youth Services area. 6:15 storytime will be in Conference Room ABC.

Come play with us! Each month, we will have a different theme and activities. We will have different sensory, skill, and play stations for your child to explore! Parents will interact with their little ones at each station at their own pace while meeting other parents and little friends! Come join in the parent and toddler fun!

Registration is required starting 2 weeks before each program. This program is designed for kids ages 1-3. Siblings are welcomed but will have to be registered to play. Held in Conference ABC.

March 13 Theme:      Oh the Places You'll Go with Dr. Seuss    Registration Begins: February 28

Green Eggs and Ham, Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and more. Playing with Dr Seuss is never a bore! Activities will be based on many of Dr. Seuss’s famous books in honor of his birthday.

Get to know a Naturalist! Please join us as we learn about this American Naturalist, photographer, and Pulitzer prize-winning writer. 

This class is intended for school-age students and up. Held in Conference Room ABC. 

Registration required and begins 3/3. To register, stop by the service desk or call 766-6340 (press for service desk). Registration is only for this specific class. To participate in other classes in this series, please register when our registration dates open.

January 21 - Get to Know a Naturalist: Frances Hamerstrom. Registration begins 1/7.

After our storytime families are invited to stay to play and learn together as they make a craft and practice their STEAM skills.

Designed for children ages 3-6 with a caregiver, but siblings are always welcome.  Program offered one Tuesday at 6:00p and one Saturday at 10:00a each month. No registration required.

Join us at 1000 Islands Environmental Center for a seed starting workshop for all ages! Learn the proper technique and timing for starting your garden plants from seed. Kids are invited to join in a special storytime while adults and older kids participate in the informational presentation. Everyone will have the opportunity to plant seeds to take home to care for.

Friday, March 27, 2020 - 9:00am to 4:45pm

Drop in between 9:00a and 4:45p to make a craft in the Childrens area. We'll also have a table of supplies out that you can create your own unique work of art.

Thursday, April 2, 2020 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Come wear your favorite pajamas to the library! We will sing, dance, and read some night time stories in our jammies. Let’s get comfy and have some fun!  

This event is designed for preschoolers, but siblings are always welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult -- pajamas optional! The event will be held in Conference Room ABC.

Let’s get dressed up and have a ball! We will dance the day away the fancy fun way! Wear your favorite attire and dancing shoes, and join us for our mini prom. Dancing, snacks, and a photo station will be provided! 

This event is designed for preschoolers and their caregiver(s), but siblings are always welcome. The event will be held in Conference Room ABC.

Thursday, April 30, 2020 - 9:30am to 10:15am

Explore the wonder of birds on a sensory level at the KPL Interactive Learning Garden.  Through interactive, exploratory methods, children will discover the means in which birds survive, communicate, and fly during this one hour program given by the staff from 1000 Islands.  All participants will make their own “binoculars” to take home. Program is weather dependent.  All are welcome!
